Come closer to your dream by Visualization

If you attend any successful coaching program, one thing that always gets mentioned is visualization. You need to see and feel the positive image of your end goal. Many people under estimate the power of visualization and do not practice this amazing function of the brain.

Here are my tips on how to visualize:
First be clear about what you want, that’s your end result. Put that on paper and try to describe it as detailed as possible. Focus your mind to the final sensory of your goal, for example, you want to be the top sales person, your sensory may be going on stage to collect your prize, shake the CEO’s hand and receive the recognition from a cheering crowd. Notice your emotional change when you are in the sensory. How would you feel when you’re on stage? How would you feel with the crowd cheering for you because you achieved a remarkable result? Always try to capture the emotion. If you could include your five senses while you’re visualizing, that’s even better. What do you smell? What sounds do you hear? What can you see? What texture do you feel?

When I sense an emotional change in my mind and body I want to move accordingly. I know I’ve got the visualization created, but I won’t stay in the positive image I’ve created too long, although it feels great, the maximum time I can be in this state for is just 5 minutes. If you do more 5 minutes, you’ll become a dreamer. After I have created my emotional state, my brain then create a new pathway for my goal to happen, I have more energy and I look at things differently. The work in front of me becomes more enjoyable, and the ides flow more easily to make the challenge happen. The aim of the visualization exercise is to taste the rewards of success in advance, so we get recharged emotionally and can then follow through with the actions accordingly.

If you cannot visualize, I suggest you create your own dream board. Get pictures from books and magazine related to your goal. Just stick them together and place somewhere you’ll see each day. I’ve tried to put a few pictures on my bathroom mirror, so every morning when I brush my teeth, I remind myself what I’m aiming for.

Try to visualize today, it doesn’t cost you anything. Once you start, you will see how visualization could benefit you in getting your goal closer to you.

You are so right about the power of visualization. It is amazing that people use visualization for sports but do not even think about using visualization for business.

The idea of the dream board is one that can really work. Once you reach one of your goals from you visualization board, the cool thing is you can remove it and replace it with another.

  2. Brain works like a muscle, it’s good for us to keep thinking and feeding it with the right materials. I agree with you that we can never underestimate the power of visualization. Putting an image to your bathroom mirror is a great idea!

  3. Hi Kin
loved this post concerning visualisation – also I agree with the comment concerning very clean lines to your blog.
Visualisation and working within the Law of Attraction is something we have have pursued over the last year and we have discovered a great tool. we believe it is much more effective than a vision board. have you heard of mind movies? I don’t like to put links in comments so I will take the liberty of sending the details to your email.
    kindest regards

  4. Hi Allan,
After I write my post and I come to the idea of mind movie. Thank you for sharing the information. I didn’t buy the package myself, but I just use some free software to crate my own, and I think that is pretty powerful. Have you crated yours? How’s your list building going? Really looking forward to hear from you.

  5. Kin,

Yours is one of the best articles I have read on visualization and this particular statement of yours struck me, “my brain then create a new pathway for my goal to happen”…I get very focused on all the work I have to do and do not use visualization much. I can see I need to improve in this area. Thanks for sharing.

    Best regards,

  6. Hi Kin,

Love the post. Strangely this was hard for me to accept, you know success. But it’s what a work hard for every single day and my mind is starting to open up and embrace the possibilities.

Think about what you want, not about what you don’t want.

    Thanks,

  7. Hi Kin

Yes the power of visualization but I believe it goes hand in hand with affirmations. Use the both together and you have a powerful tool.

A little about me – My name is Sue McDonald and I am a student of Mark Terrell and I am actually going through the course a second time – by invitation. I love it and know if I do all he says, I will be successful. I am Australian but the US is my second home as I have family there and visit quite often. This is why I started Internet Marketing so I can travel whenever I want and have the money to do what I want.

Well I hope you are doing well and you become very successful. I would love you to come visit my blog and leave a comment.

    Kind regards

  9. Hi Kin Lau,

I’m a student at MWA 4.0. What you said about visualization is powerful stuff even in the realms of Law of Attraction. I didn’t buy the mind movies product either. May i know what free software you’re using to make your own mind movies ? Thanks you for your informative post.

I love to hear more on the Law of Attraction from you.

    Cheers,

  10. Hi Cheekeong

Thanks for your comment. The software I use is call “Pinnacle VideoSpin”. Very easy to use.
Another tool I recommand is call “Format Factory”. I use that to convert my mind movie to mobile
phone format and load that to my mobile phone. So I can watch my mindmovie anywhere.

Add me as your facebook friend, hope we can connect in the future.

  11. Hello Kin,

I enjoyed reading your post on visualization very much. I think I will start a dream board – what a great idea! I need to put the results of my dreams in front of me daily so that I don’t get bogged down with work and forget the reasons for the work.

    Thanks for this little tip!

    To your success,
    Alice

  12. Hi Kin Lau,
We are very happy to return (at last) and notice the continued interest in your post.Yes, we have a mind movie of our own.
We have finished the first course with our coach and begin the advanced course in a couple of months. We feel we are making rapid gains.Even though we work as a team it has been difficult to find enough time.We can appreciate that it must be difficult for folk with family commitments to find sufficient time.
Our mind movie has rather grand plans in it so they haven’t materialised – YET.
That’s wonderful that you have your movie on your mobile.
    kindest regards
