About
Welcome to my Blog
I am Kin Lau and I live in Christchurch with my wife and our 2 lovely boys. Originally from Hong Kong, I emigrated to New Zealand in 1995 and currently work for a Bank in Customer Service.
Like everyone I have many dreams about running my own business, personal wealth and writing my own pay check, but I am determined to make it happen.
I believe that working as an employee does have one advantage and that is having the security of being paid a salary each month, but then again these days having a secure job is a real joke, as Robert Kiyosaki quotes in his book Rich Dad, Poor Dad. If you haven’t already read this book, you should – it is fantastic.
I find it very frustrating that having graduated with a major B.Sci degree in Computer Software Engineering, I now spend my days working in a Customer Service in a Bank. Don’t get me wrong I love my job and I thrive at meeting new people and helping them with financial advice but I just feel that I can not keep trading my precious time for money. I already have plans for my future, should my banking corporation decide to restructure the team, outsource, reduce financial loss etc.. and make my role redundant. I believe that it is always good to have an exit plan in mind, as you never know what may happen and I am not going to be one of those people that stands outside of the Benefits office begging for money to feed my family.
So, my question to myself everyday is, What should I do to build my assets and increase my cash flow but, not put myself at any risk?
I search the internet daily looking for hopeful answers, I have downloaded many ebooks, participated in many online courses for advice on setting up a business risk free, and continuously I am seeking for a great mentor. Having spent years researching the web for answers I now feel that setting up an online business is the way to go, and by leveraging the internet and technology it will enable me to keep my regular income from the bank and build up my business sideways until my secondary income is rich enough for me to eventually replace my current full time job at the bank.
I really hope that you will find my blogs of interest and that they will inspire you. Please feel free to add comments and suggestions.
